Lecture Notes, Tutorial Sheets and Handouts
Any errors in the lecture notes and problem sheets (should!) have been corrected in these online versions.Lecture notes are available in two formats:
- PDF: Portable Document Format, requires Adobe Reader, evince, xpdf or similar. These should be viewable anywhere and printable on most printers.
- PDF-2: refers to `two up' PDF -- ie the format of the lecture handouts.

Lecture and tutorial times
- Lectures are on Tuesdays and Fridays 11:10-12:00 in JCMB Lecture Theatre B.
- Tutorial workshops will be held on Tuesdays 2-4pm in the Teaching Studio, JCMB Room 1206C and Fridays 2-4pm in JCMB Room 5326. The first tutorial will be on Tuesday, January 24, 2011.
- Problem solving is an integral part of the course and you are expected to attend an MfP4: Fields workshop every week for the entire two hours, and to work through the problems on the tutorial sheets. Several postgraduate students will act as course tutors.
