I am a guitarist and play mandolin and acoustic, electric and bass guitar. In the acoustic line I enjoy playing guitar with popular bothy ballad singer Scott Gardiner. I like to play using finger picking techniques derived from folk blues men such as Big Bill Broonzy. Folk guitarists such as Bert Jansch, John Renbourn and the late Isaac Guillory are also major influences. See my acoustic guitar links for their web pages.

I'm not adverse to using a plectrum and studio technology as well and recently have been working on a new project of electrified bothy ballads. The working title is "Electric Bothy" and it will mainly consist of funky instrumentals featuring all my musical instruments of choice plus virtual instruments and hopefully some singing from Golda Fischer of world music band Althing.

I also teach guitar and bass privately and received my teacher's diploma in the electric guitar in 2005 from the London College of Music through the Registry of Guitar Tutors.

I have been known to play acoustic mandolin in folk sessions and am the bass player of the ceilidh band Teannaich. I also played electric guitar in the much missed jazz-funk band The Wizards here in Edinburgh.

My CD "Treeman" is loaded into on the flash player. It was recorded in eight track digital at the EH Acoustics recording studio was completed in 2001. It features seven songs, three featuring singing from Greg Chick and Wendy Morrow, and four instrumentals, one featuring my friends from The Wizards.
