Halo Nuclei with Real Photons

Halo Nuclei with Real Photons

There are a variety of nuclear reactions available to produce Halo Nuclei. This experiment will use the (gamma, pion+) reaction.

The distincive feature of this experiment is the clean production mechanism with no hadronic interaction for the incoming photon and litte for the outgoing pion; in addition one may reach and resolve excited states as the final state.

This experiment will be one of the first to use the Edinburgh Germanium Telescope detectors.
