Confocal Scanning Laser Microscopy (cSLM)

  • Nikon Eclipse TE300 inverted microscope
    • Ports: front, side, bottom
  • Nikon Eclipse TE800 upright microscope
  • BioRad Radiance 2100 Confocal Scanning Microscope System, comprising:
    • Argon-Ion laser providing: 457, 476, 488 & 514 nm
    • Green Helium-Neon ("GreNe") laser: 543 nm
    • Red diode laser: 637 nm
    • Three PMT detector channels

Scanning Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (cFLIM)

Time-correlated single-photon counting is provided by

  • Becker & Hickl SPC-730 TCSPC PCI-card module

Multiphoton Fluorescence Microscopy

  • Coherent Verdi V10 diode-pumped solid state green laser
    • CW
    • 10-Watt
    • 532-nm
  • Coherent Mira Optima 900-F Modelocked Ti:Sapphire laser
    • Tuning range: 700-1000 nm (requires N2 above nm)

Optical Tweezers

The optical tweezer system comprises:
  • Nikon Eclipse TE2000 inverted microscope
  • One fixed trap in the centre of the field
  • One movable trap
  • CCD Camera to monitor and record images and movies
  • Software to control the system
