Rosalind Allen

Rosalind is Professor of Theoretical Microbial Ecology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany. Her group is part of the Excellence Cluster "Balance of the Microverse". She also holds a part-time post as Professor of Biological Physics at the University of Edinburgh. Rosalind originally trained as a chemist and did her PhD in theoretical chemistry on simulations of water molecule dynamics. She transitioned to biochemical network simulations for her postdoctoral work. Since starting her own group, originally at the University of Edinburgh and more recently in Jena, she has combined experimental mcirobiology studies of bacterial growth and death with theoretical modelling and computer simulations. You can read more about her biography here.
