AIDA Meeting - University of Liverpool - 13 November 2008 --------------------------------------------------------- Present: RDP, SRA, DS, TD Summary of meeting ------------------ DS presented design concepts for the mechanical mounting of the AIDA DSSSDs, kapton cabling etc. and illustrated how these concepts integrate with the 4pi neutron detector and current RISING gamma-ray detector array. Conclusions ----------- 1) Need to add mechanical structure of AIDA FEE (requires input from John Strachan) 2) Need to determine kapton cable length 3) Need to use fixed length kapton cables 4) Radius of curvature of kapton cabling at seal near base plate should be relaxed 5) Enclosure U-tube + panel or box/sleeve how sealed? wrt internal gas overpressure wrt EMI/RFI wrt repeated use 6) Materials - carbon fibre/aluminium determine thickness required 7) Develop concept to conclusion Tasks 1-3 are urgent and should be completed by the end of November 2008. Other ----- SRA has been asked to recommend hardware for: recirculating dry-gas chiller FEE power supply DSSSD bias supply polarity + and - or floating ~500V 100uA Necessary cabling, connectors etc. All hardware requires: remote computer interface universal mains input 110/230VAC 50-60Hz 16.11.08
