Summary of meeting

Bardelli Detector Simulations

17GeV U ion -> 1mm Si 
	90% charge collection time ~400ns

SLT notes peak current is reduced. This is good because it reduces voltage transients.
Ristime variations -> ballistic deficit problems in shaper?

Action TD/IL: contact Luigi Bardelli to check charge profile with detector (Bragg? point?)
              model includes induced charges?
	      effect of plate (cf. strip) model? charge cloud size cf. strip size?

Detector tests

Texas A&M November 1mm DSSD 40MeV/u 30Al
GSI February 1mm DSSD 10GeV A>100 ions

Observe preamplifier outputs (esp. risetime)
Tektronix TDS2024 
SLT wants histogram of risetimes

SLT has checked IR lasers @ RAL but would need a lot of test & development
realistic?

Action SLT: supply 20GeV RAL108s, 4 type A, 4 type B

FEE Design
----------

64ch FEE + 64ch FEE + Virtex 4
Development 64ch FEE + Virtex 4 dev kit

PCS to talk to John Strachan about mech eng effort
If Liverpool (Seddon?) to be involved he'll ask me to talk to Rob Page too

Package thickness per presentation plus ~1cm water-cooled metal

Action PCS: estimate power consumption per FEE

AIDA ASIC Design Review

Production process AMS scheduled every 1-2 months, production duration 13 weeks
layout should take much less time than indicated on Gantt chart
