At the beginning of 2008, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center announced that the antimatter-matter experiment called BaBar would take its last data in March 2008 after nearly ten years of operation. Originally designed to understand the absence of antimatter in the Universe, the experiment has gone on to make a number of high precision measurements of the Standard Model and beyond. I will look back at these seminal measurements and cover the latest results. I will also explain how BaBar could find Dark Matter candidates and even the Higgs before the LHC.
