The BaBar experiment has collected a large sample of B meson decays during its running time, which has facilitated the search for rare and very rare decays. The rare decay B->tau nu is a purely leptonic decay of the B meson, and represents an opportunity to study properties of the B meson unmeasurable in other decay modes, and also an exciting opportunity to constrain New Physics effects beyond the standard model.  Current results from BaBar and Belle have provided evidence for this decay - the next round of analyses hope to increase the sensitivity of the experiment by utilising multivariate analysis techniques.  Current measurements, and prospects for analysis with the full BaBar dataset will be described.
