Scanning Electron Microscope Pictures of AB |
For size ratios of 0.426, 0.400 and 0.399 I have found binary crystals with the AB face-centred-cubic arrangement analogous to that seen in atomic NaCl
The images below were taken from samples containing particles with radii 415nm and 165.7nm giving the system a size ratio of 0.399. The full phase diagram for this system and laser light scattering traces for this binary crystal can be found on the other web pages.
