Location: Chemistry

I am a chemistry PhD student jointly supervised by Dr. Anita Jones and Dr. David Dryden. My research involves measuring the fluorescence lifetime(s) of the adenine analogue 2-aminopurine (2AP) in DNA. The fluorescence lifetime signature of this probe allows us to gain information about local DNA conformation. I am interested in using 2AP to reveal DNA-protein interactions, specifically to characterise DNA base flipping by methyltransferase enzymes.
