Confocal Microscopy in a Vertical Plane

Posted by Paul Clegg at October 17. 2006

Hi Brett,

Previously you said that it would be possible to do fluorescence confocal microscopy with the sample imaging plane vertical. The suggestion was that we would take the scan head off the microscope and align it with lenses on the bench. Would it be possible to try this at some point? Say for example on afternoon of 3rd November?

Thanks,

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your contribution to the discussion fora!

The vertical-imaging set-up should be straightforward, and just requires a "tube lens" of 200 mm between the scan head and the objective, in order to replicate the Nikon system.

The confocal system is currently available on the afternoons of 24 & 26 Oct, and 2 & 3 Nov. If you want to reserve time, add a booking on the Calendar.

Cheers,

Brett
