Please treat microscopes with great care!

• Do not force any mechanical component
• Keep fingers off all optical surfaces
• Use dust covers when finished (ensuring lamps are cool)
• Keep objectives in their storage containers
• Return objectives to the cabinet when finished
• Keep unused objective ports covered
• Cover exposed input/output ports of the microscope
• Keep filters in their storage boxes
• Keep filter cartridges covered
• If in doubt---ASK a more experienced colleague, or the Lab Manager

When you have finished using water/oil objectives, gently wipe the objective end with lint-free optical cleaning tissue. Do not leave the water/oil to dry on the objective!

Any user found to be not following these rules may be banned from access to the microscopes.
